Hair dilemma solved?

For the time being these tiny rubberbands are going to have to work. Check out Olivia's do.

Sleepless nights

Last week Olivia woke up during the night two days in a row. She stayed up for hours! I think she's trying to tell me that I'm not allowed to go out anymore with the girls. Luis tells me this is how I look in the morning.

Pumpkin Picking

Today we took Olivia to a local church's "pumpkin patch" to pick out her very first pumpkin! So much fun!

Jump!

Olivia and I took our first trip to a local bounce house. It was lots of fun for her and lots of good exercise for me.

Time for a haircut?

Olivia's bangs are really starting to get in the way. Check out the picture in the last post. She refuses to wear any bows, and I find myself constantly combing her hair to the side. I know it drives me crazy to have my hair in my eyes, and I don't want this to bother her vision. I'm just not ready for a hair cut. I was hoping I could at least wait until she turned 2. What do you think?

19 lb 3 oz

Here's a few pictures from last week. Now that Olivia has started walking we had to put her to work!

Last month Olivia went to her one year well baby exam. I knew she is on the petite side but I was hoping to hear she weighed somewhere between 18 and 20 pounds. I was a little disappointed when we found out she weighed 17 pounds 8 oz. She only gained 6 ounces in 3 months! I know that she had been moving around a lot more and she is burning lots of calories, but I couldn't help but feel that the doctor was looking at me like I starve my child.
Well, last Friday Olivia went back for her second flu shot and she now weighs 19 pounds 3 oz!!! With a little help from some tennis shoes (thanks Uncle John!) and lots of whole milk, she's finally gaining weight. She's still not allowed to ride facing forward in her carseat, but I don't mind waiting on that.

Step by Step

Olivia turned 13 months on Sunday and she decided to take her first steps for me and her dad. I was just starting to get a little discouraged because she's the only one in her Wiggles and Giggles class that's not walking. But she reminded me that she'll do these things in her own time.
Olivia tried out finger painting this week. I'm not really sure what she thought of it. I had to give her a lot of help. Her masterpiece is up on the fridge right where it belongs!

Just Like Dad

This is what Olivia likes to do while I am slaving away in the kitchen making dinner for our family.
