Deck the Halls

Olivia was super excited to decorate for Christmas this year. We were able to put up the entire tree and most of the decorations around the house while Mia napped. Olivia did a great job hanging all of the ornaments on the bottom of the tree. Even though I think we have plenty, she was looking for more. We may have to take a little shopping trip the day after Christmas to get more ornaments for next year, since I will have two helpers decorating with me. As soon as Mia woke up, we decided to put the baby gate around the tree. It was just too tempting for her little hands. I'm sure Santa will be able to maneuver around it.
Olivia loved the lights on the outside of the house too. She was very worried about Luis while he was on the roof hanging them. She kept saying, "Be careful, Daddy!" And she kept telling him not to fall. I'm sure this didn't make him nervous at all! I think he did a great job. Probably one of our best Christmas displays yet:) Oh and I almost forgot, Olivia picked out the inflatable Santa.

Happy Thanksgiving!!

Nine Months!!

>
Mia turned nine months yesterday. Time is surely flying, but sometimes when I look at her I think she is older. She is mastering everything so quickly. I guess that is the life of a second child. Mia is an expert crawler and now prefers to stand. She pulls up on EVERYTHING. Thankfully, she hasn't figured out how to walk around the furniture yet!! She is clapping and waving, and smacks her lips when you ask for a kiss. It is the cutest!! She has tried some table foods and has loved everything. She was not too crazy about some of the stage 3 baby food. Can you blame her? Mia and Olivia have also started taking their bathes together. What fun! Here are a a few pics of sweet Amelia.

Disney Princess Surprise

We decided to surprise Olivia with tickets to see The Disney Princesses in Ice. She got all dolled up in a new Ariel dress up-outfit and had so much fun!! Her favorite was Apple Princess, AKA Snow White. Mia came with along too of course, and I think she really enjoyed herself too! She was really interested in the music and all of the colorful costumes. We can already tell she wants to be just like her big sis!

Happy Halloween

The girls had a very full month of Halloween this year. Two costume parties, the Zoo Boo, trick or treating at the church pumpkin patch, a school party, and trick or treating in our neighborhood. Whew! I'm just glad their costumes lasted through all these events! Olivia was super excited for trick or treating this year. My shy girl did so great! She even went to a few extra houses, after I took Mia in for the night. Mia and Olivia started fighting (here we go!) over Olivia's pumpkin bucket before we even left our driveway. Thankfully, we had an extra for Mia to hold onto in the wagon. I'm sure people thought we were trying to get extra candy! HA! Here's a few pics:

8 months

7 Months (minus pictures)

Mia turned 7 months on September 23rd. The same day she took her first plane ride! She did great! We weren't so sure because she isn't the best when stuck in her car seat for a long time.
7 months was a month a firsts for her. My baby is growing up so fast!!
She visited Michigan for the first time. And got to meet her uncles, and lots of other aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends. We were so blessed to be able to celebrate her baptism with our family during this visit. It was a beautiful day surrounded by lots of good friends and family.
Mia also got her first two teeth.
She also started crawling! Olivia's toys give her lots of motivation for moving around. They are the first things she goes after!
Mia also had her first sickness during this month:(

Both girls were so lucky to be able to spend almost a whole month visiting grandparents. We got to visit with Grandma and Grandma D, and Grandma Nora and Papa Luis for Olivia's birthday. And we got to spend the week at Grandma and Papa's house. Olivia still talks about how much fun she had! And Papa came home with us so I didn't have to travel by myself with the girls.

And as a side note, we have broken the third camera this year! What the heck! Sorry for the lack of pics.
Here's a cute one of our tough little cookie.

Just because we love her

I think we need at least one post about our sweet baby girl!

First Day of School

Olivia started school a few weeks ago. It has been a big adjustment for her. I guess she had more fun with me over the summer than I thought! I know once she gets used to it, she will love it just as much as she did last year.

Birthday post part 2

Olivia got to visit with lots of family and friends over her birthday weekend. We were all even surprised to get a visit from Grandma D. She decided to tag along for the trip with my mom. We really showed her a lot of Houston this time. We went as far west as Katy to Katy Mills Mall, and as far south as Galveston, to Moody Gardens Aquarium. It was a fun week!!

Happy Birthday Olivia

Olivia turned 3 on September 5th! For the most part, I think we are both loving this age so far.
She had a big bash at Chuck E Cheese. Olivia loves going to Chuck E Cheese to play, however we have learned that she does not like to be the center of attention, and she does not like a big mouse named Chuck. At the end of the day she told us how much fun her birthday party was, although you would never tell looking at the pictures of her sourpuss face.

6 months

Happy 1/2 birthday to our sweet baby girl!! Mia is weighing in at 14 lb 13 oz and is 27 in long. She's tall and skinny (?). She is so sweet and so observant. She follows everything that Olivia does. She is eating so well and has not tried anything that she doesn't like. I have a feeling that she will be moving to table food pretty quickly. Mia has started sitting up on her own. Now her favorite thing to do is stand up. She is just itching to be on the move.
