Day at the Beach

Last weekend we spent time down in Brownsville with Grandma and Grandpa. Olivia got to go to South Padre Island for the first time, and she got to take a little swim. It was her first time on the beach. She loved it as much as I knew she would. She was so brave in the water and so curious about everything. She started pointed at the seagulls before we even got out of the parking lot. My sweet girl is growing up so fast. Please don't remind me that her birthday is in less than two weeks!!!! Here are a few pictures. You might notice there was a lot of clapping going on that day.

Early Birthday Present

Last weekend Luis and I saw a water table at Walmart that we were thinking of getting for Olivia's birthday. We weren't quite sold on it so I asked him to check out the Target near his work for another table or other toys. (I noticed some newer toys during one of my many trips to Target.) Well, he ended up coming home with a Fisher Price three in one kitchen for Olivia instead. Surprise!! Of course Luis wanted to give it to Olivia right away. He said she looked bored with some of ehr other toys. Olivia must have known it was for her because she sat next to the box waiting for Luis to open it. She was so patient while he put it together, it was so cute!! I guess that's one less gift I need to wrap!

This really should not surpise me at all. Luis gets so excited when he buys my birthday gifts that he usually gives them to me the day before.

WARNING Naked baby pictures

If diaper changing were an Olympic event, Olivia and I would not be winning any medals. It is the worst part of our day, for both Olivia and myself. If only I didn't have to do it ten times a day, it wouldn't be so bad. As soon as I take off her diaper she flips over and starts crawling away. When I finally manage to pin her down, she screams and squirms all over the place. If this keeps up we may break the world record for fasted potty training.

Water baby

Yesterday I took Olivia to the splash park and to say that she had fun would be an understatement. I have never seen her crawl so fast. I could hardly keep up with her. It was so much fun watching her in the water. She didn't even care that there was a field trip of 8 year olds playing there too.

Already?

Olivia turned 11 months old yesterday!! We almost spent the evening in the ER. She was pulling up on our little printer stand and slipped and knocked her mouth. Her teeth cut the inside of her lip and she shed a little blood. I had a hard time looking inside her mouth, but I could tell there was no gaping hole so we decided to stay home. My poor girl!!! She's in much better spirits today and of course is still pulling up on everything.

Tropical Storm Edouard

All's well here. Just a little rain. Can you tell Olivia looks concerned about the storm?

Sweet Tooth

Olivia went to a birthday party last weekend. I think she really enjoyed the cupcakes. She must be practicing for her own birthday! Too much sugar = no naptime.
