Moody Gardens

Saturday we took a trip to Galveston and spent the day at Moody Gardens. It's a resort but it also has lots of things to do if you are just going to spend the day there. We really felt like we were on vacation even though we were only 45 minutes from home. We decided to check out the Aquarium, which was really nice. Olivia kept running up to the tanks and saying "Ooh, cool." And "hi guys...by guys" to all of the fish. It was so funny! We also went to their Rain forest exhibit. It was pretty, but not as much fun for Olivia. We also went to the Palm Beach water park. It was by far the best part of the day. It is geared towards younger kids, so it was perfect for Olivia. She got to ride her first water slide and she had a ball swimming. We all agreed that we might have to come back soon, so get ready Grandma and Papa. This will be a great place to visit while you're here!

Pool Party

We went to a party at Luis's boss's house on Saturday evening. Olivia had so much fun swimming in their pool! I didn't think we would be able to get her out of it. We all had a great time at the party, and Olivia got to stay out way past her bedtime. She was even asked to stay the night by Luis's boss's daughter. (Her first sleepover invite!)
This Sunday we also went cold-turkey from the pacifier. This was so sad for all of us, but it had to be done. So far Olivia has done great. She threw them in the trash herself, and only had a little meltdown. Nap time was rough at first, but after crying for a while she fell asleep. I was dreading bedtime but it was AWESOME. She kissed us goodnight and was grinning from ear to ear when we left her in her crib. I am so proud of her!

Happy Fourth

Fourth of July 2008

Even though we flew back on the holiday, we still got in a little celebrating with Grandpa and Grandma.

Our long overdue Vacation post

We spent the last week of June/beginning of July visiting family in Michigan. (It was a great escape from the Texas HEAT.) While we were in Michigan we took a trip up to Mackinac Island on Lake Huron. It was so nice to get away! And even though we like visiting everyone in Detroit, it felt like a REAL vacation. You have to take a ferry to the island because there are no cars permitted. Olivia wasn't too crazy about the boat ride. Once we got on the island she loved sampling all of the famous fudge. We stopped at about every Fudge Shop on the island. Since there are no cars on the island, everyone travels by bicycle, on foot, or by horse drawn carriage. Olivia loved seeing all of the horses. She also got to visit a Butterfly house while we were there and played at a few local parks. Here are a few pictures from our trip. I apologize if any of you have seen these. Luis always steals the good pics for his Facebook page:)
