Happy Fourth!

Amelia celebrated her first Fourth of July with a visit from her favorite Texan Grandparents. We went out to dinner and Olivia got to see Toy Story 3. Luis grilled us a delicious Fourth of July dinner and both girls were asleep by 8pm. Maybe next year fireworks?

Sisters

It has been so much fun watching the girls start to bond with each other. I can already tell that Mia is just amazed by Olivia. And Olivia would do just about anything for her little sis (except change her diaper!). Olivia has her moments of jealousy, but overall she is the best big sister. She tells Mia that she loves her all the time. She will try to sooth her when she is crying and she gives her a pacifier without me asking for help. Sometimes she even hears her crying before I do. I'm not sure what we have done to deserve two amazing little girls.

Tiny Dancer

Olivia is taking a ballet class this summer. At first it was not looking good for dance class. It's pretty hard getting both girls ready for a 9am class. And Olivia was really afraid on her first day. I had to stay with her in the class instead of waiting in the hallway. We ended up switching to a class at one of the other community centers and she is having so much fun. I think she feels more comfortable in the building we've had classes in before, and she also has a friend from Mother's Day Out in class with her too.

4 months

Mia turned four months a few weeks ago. The summer is flying by even faster with two little girls to keep us busy. Mia did great at her four month checkup. She weighs 12 lb 15 oz. She really enjoys eating, so I think she may be a little bigger than her skinny mini sister. She gets really excited when it's time to eat. She only gets one bottle a day and she is already able to grab it with both hands to feed herself. It is so funny to watch! Mia is loving being around Olivia. When she was smaller I think she was a little frightened by the attention Olivia gave her. Now she looks for her from across the room and watches everything Olivia does. Mia also loves to hear herself "talk." She laughs and babbles all the time.

3 Months

While we were out of town Mia turned three months old!! The past few months have been such a whirl wind. I can hardly believe how fast she has grown. She is such a happy baby. She loves looking at faces and smiles all the time. She is such a happy girl. She is definitely a daddy's girl too. Mia just found her toes, and it so adorable to watch her play with them. Who needs toys? She doesn't seem to like her car seat too much, but I can't blame her. It is already so hot here! She is getting up once during the night. As tired as I am, I really enjoy it. It's the only time that we have together just the two of us. Here are a few recent pics. Our "three month" picture isn't so great. We were not at home, it was very late, and the final LOST episode was on.

A Month of Birthdays

This month Olivia went to four birthday parties! Chuck E Cheese with Aidan, Jumpin Jungle for Barrett's bday (sorry forgot the camera!), Little Gym for Jordan's birthday, and another bounce house with her friend Noah. What would we do without our daughter's busy social calendar? With all of the parties, Olivia keeps asking if her birthday is next. Last night she asked if we would have cake, and sing "happy birthday dear Olivia", and blow out candles. So the pressure is on to plan her party already!!

Take me to the Beach

Olivia has been asking us to go to the beach for the longest time. So, we backed up our swimsuits and sand buckets and took a road trip to Port Aransas. We stayed at the Port Royal resort, which happens to have THE BIGGEST pool in Texas. We actually ended up spending more time at the pool than the beach. Olivia loved the pool because in the shallowest area she could touch the bottom. There were lots of little girls for her to play with too. I heard her telling some of the other girls that she knew how to swim. Not quite! The beach was nice, but full of seaweed. We also spent the day at the Texas State Aquarium. Olivia loved the dolphin show, but she was a little afraid of the sharks. She kept asking us where the mermaids were:)
Mia was such a sweet girl during the trip. She looked so adorable in her bathing suit. She even got to take a dip in the pool. I think she really liked it!
